Sailing Around The World

Rodriguez Island

After 12 days 20 hours we made it back to dry land. It was a fun and tough passage over the last 2000 naticaul miles. Our check in and clearance was pretty easy just lots of forms to be filled but the local people are very friendly. Yesterday we rented motorbikes for $20 bucks and drove all over the Island. It was great to eat some food made by someone else and drink a big beer.

I want to thank everybody for your comments, we all enjoy reading them once we get to shore. I wish I could respond at sea but I can only post blogs not red any comments.

Gidday Jacques, just caught up with your blogs…. What a time you’re all having. Awesome! I’m envious of you for being out there “doing it” and will look forward to your next leg.

So Happy you are on land again. From what I have read and heard from ocean sailors the Indian Ocean can be very treacherous. the photo of Rodriguez Island is very beautiful. Have fun there. Anne PS The football coach at U of AZ is Rich Rodriquez! wonder how the island got that name?

    • Hi Anne,
Yeah I think it was a French Captian that came here in the early 1600’s I think. Anyway love the comments and that you are following so closely.

      Take care,
